Bioenergy in Northwest Montana
The Stoltze Co-Generation Power Plant went online in 2013. It is capable of utilizing eight tons per hour, 192 tons per day, 67,200 tons or approximately 2,240 truckloads per year of bark, sawdust, planer shavings and woods direct hogfuel. The average Mega Watt production is 2.5 hourly, 60 daily and 21,000 annually. It is capable of powering up to 3,000 homes in the Flathead Valley. The Power Plant employees 11 full time employees in addition; electricians, maintenance and equipment personnel are shared part-time with mill operations.
